If you’ve been reading this lately, you probably already know about a few amazing places to visit. If not, I invite you to read more! But there are some hidden gems in Punta Cana that I haven’t mentioned yet. They will blow your mind just as much as the others, but they are not as popular or well known. They’re perfect for people who are coming back after a few visits and want to see a new side of Punta Cana, one that only locals really know about!

Punta Espada Golf Club

You probably know Punta Cana as the place you go to for exciting adventures, hours upon hours at the beach, or maybe some other natural beauty that you wouldn’t find anywhere else. But what if I told you that it has one of the world’s best golf clubs just a few minutes away from where you’re staying? At Punta Espada Golf Club, you’ll be surrounded by amazing views all around, and you can experience their eight holes at your own pace! This is excellent for those well-seasoned golfers who need a challenge, time away from daily life, and a tropical escapade.

Lava Cama Beach

Well, as expected, a beach had to make it into the list. But don’t be so quick to dismiss it! While other beaches I’ve mentioned before are touristic hotspots, Lava Cama beach offers peace and tranquility like no other. It’s one of Punta Cana’s truest hidden spots because, unlike the others, it is largely intact and empty. It doesn’t have the same idyllic and stunning visuals the others do, but it more than makes up for it with its earthy and quiet ambiance. The water is no less impressive than the others! It exhibits so many colors, you might even get lost in them!

Laguna Bavaro

Chances are you’re already familiar with the name Bavaro, and for good reason. Almost all the best places to be are named the same! And Laguna Bavaro would be no exception, of course, being a beautiful natural reserve for bird and nature enthusiasts alike. As with most bodies of water on the island, you’ll find clear, crystalline waters waiting for you, coupled with flora and fauna for you to explore! Don’t stray too far from the trail, however, because you don’t want to miss out on the chance to see some of the birds native to our island. Nature lovers, this is your chance!

Hard Rock Café

I’ve talked extensively about Hard Rock Casino, but I just can’t stop bringing it up! Although Punta Cana is known for its amazing, tropical, and Latino culture, sometimes it’s good to take a step back and relax in your comfort zone. Go somewhere familiar, just as you’d find back home. Indulge in a burger, which by the way, is amazing there, and listen to rock music! Not everyone is going to be at Hard Rock Café, which means you’ll have more than enough space to enjoy your guilty pleasure. Besides, maybe you’ll make some new friends there!

Reserva Ecologica Ojos Indigenas

Are you still in the mood for nature? Do you want to explore a little bit more of our history? Then this is your dream spot! This natural reserve is one of the island’s heaviest places when it comes to history and cultural significance. It gets its name, “indigenous eyes,” from the shapes on the little lagoons, which is what the natives used to call them! You can even swim in some of them, to truly submerge yourself in the past! But beware! The water is pretty chilly! The vast reserve houses many plant and animal species unique to Dominican Republic, making it the perfect place to familiarize yourself with our wonderful green spaces!
