Even if it’s cloudy outside, you can still take some great photos. So just because the weather doesn’t seem to be the best out there, you can still find some levity in the situation. When it’s cloudy you need to adapt and adjust to the weather, which is actually a very good thing. A stellar photographer will still be able to help you, and the results will shine thanks to that. You just have to commit to the process and make it work.
Figuring out what you can do if it’s cloudy
Whether you go for a couple, solo or family photo session, you want to make sure that you look great. But since it’s cloudy outside, you want to make sure that you wear some colors to make the entire look stand out. You also want to sit near items that are contrasting to your clothing color. All the little details will help you a lot. Wearing white, khaki or earthy colors will make the images pop even more.
Cloudy days are great for portrait shots. We can focus on you and not have to worry that much about the sky most of the time. The more we use that to our advantage, the better the results will be.
Preparing for the weather
If it’s cloudy outside, the weather can change drastically really fast. Usually for the better, but we cannot predict the weather. Ideally, you want to have an umbrella and, if possible, a spare change of clothes. When there’s a cloudy situation for your photoshoot, your focus has to be on preparing yourself for any challenge that can and might arise. Sometimes it will be simple, other times we’ll simply wait for the better to improve a little bit before continuing with the photoshoot. But usually, if you have spare clothes it will be fine.
You can also talk with the photographer to re-schedule in case of rain. When you have clouds in the sky, photos usually turn out better than you’d expect, but you can always assess the situation and see which is the better option.
As you can see, even if it rains in Punta Cana, you can still make the most out of the entire experience. It might take a little bit of time to adapt and find the right shots, but we’ll be there for you. Just try to commit to the situation and the results themselves can be very impressive. Once you do that, nothing will stand in your way to create a great photoshoot!
